Lochard Energy Announces New Chair and Board Appointments

28 August 2025 – Lochard Energy today announced significant board changes as the company transitions leadership following a decade of strong performance and strategic growth.

Chair Transition

Peter Lowe, inaugural Chair of Lochard Energy, will retire on 11 November 2025 after completing a distinguished 10-year term. During his tenure, Peter has provided exemplary leadership and established a strong foundation for the company’s continued success. His unwavering focus on delivering exceptional value to customers, maintaining the highest safety standards for employees, and fostering constructive relationships with management has been instrumental in positioning Lochard for future growth. Under Peter’s guidance, the company has developed a skills-based board structure aligned with both investor and customer value creation.

Janice van Reyk, a continuing director with extensive experience on the Lochard board, including as Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee, has been appointed by the investors as the new Chair of the Board, effective 12 November 2025. Janice’s appointment follows a thorough internal and external search process, and the board is confident she is ideally positioned to lead Lochard through its next phase of development. Janice is a seasoned non-executive director serving on the boards of private and public companies in the infrastructure sector. She brings a comprehensive background in commercial law, finance, and environmental and sustainability management to her governance role.

Board Appointments

Lochard welcomes two experienced new directors to strengthen its capabilities:

Andy Holmes was appointed by the investors as an independent director on 2 May 2025, succeeding Paul Zealand who retired from the board in April 2025 after completing nine years of exceptional service with Lochard. Paul’s expert contribution to the Iona facility operations and his dedication to the workforce has left a lasting positive legacy across the organisation. Andy brings extensive experience in the petroleum and energy sectors with deep skills in operations and safety and a strong customer focus, positioning him to provide valuable strategic oversight as Lochard continues to expand its operations.

Sylvia Wiggins has been appointed by QIC effective 12 November 2025 to succeed Janice van Reyk as director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee. Sylvia will bring deep corporate, commercial, financial, governance, strategic growth and risk management experience to the role as an experienced non-executive director with energy and infrastructure, technology, and regulated industry sector experience, and ensure continued excellence in the company’s risk management and financial oversight.

Mitesh Kushwaha of QIC and Nick Hume and Jonathan Oh of BlackRock (as investment manager for Australian Retirement Trust) continue as directors.

Looking Forward

With these appointments, Lochard’s board and management team are exceptionally well-positioned to drive the company’s strategic objectives over the next decade. The combination of experienced continuing directors and new appointments provides the optimal balance of institutional knowledge and fresh perspectives to support Lochard’s continued growth and success.
