Employee Wellbeing

Employee Wellbeing

Our people are our greatest strength

At Lochard, we believe our people are our greatest strength.

We are committed to growing and sustaining a culture based on integrity and performance. Our goal is to foster an environment in which our teams work together efficiently, with individual and collective understanding of team goals, ensuring that communication is open and effective, and problems are shared and solved in a collaborative fashion.

A Strong Commitment to Employee Wellbeing

Our commitment to employee engagement, development and wellbeing is an extension of our strong safety culture.

Examples of our commitment include:

  • Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential and free-of-charge professional counselling services to all employees, contractors, and their families; as well as advice and support across other areas including health, finances, career and family support.
  • Our annual Performance and Development process ensures each employee has a development pathway for the next 12 months, and their day-to-day work is aligned with their core competencies, job description and the overall strategic direction of our business.
  • Our Emerging Leaders Program is an innovative learning program for emerging leaders at Lochard. Delivered in partnership with Social Agility, the focus is on fostering relationships inside and outside the organisation and developing leadership skills and capabilities.
Focus on Employee Engagement

Lochard Energy prioritises employee engagement through an annual survey, to actively listen to and understand the perspectives of our workforce, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that our workplace remains dynamic, supportive, and aligned with the evolving needs and aspirations of our team.

The results of the employee enagement survey are analysed by the Lochard Management Team and key areas for improvement are identified and incorporated into our Engagement Action Plan, which is actioned throughout the year.

Learning and Development

The continuous growth and skill enhancement of our employees are integral to the success and sustainability of our business.

We invest in robust learning programs that empower our team members to expand their knowledge, acquire new skills, and stay abreast of industry advancements. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, we not only ensure that our workforce remains adaptable in a rapidly changing business landscape but also cultivate a dynamic and innovative environment.

Lochard Learning Week is an annual highlight for our organisation. It is a unique opportunity for our people to come together and learn more about topics that matter the most to us.

The week is focused around a particular theme, with the last being “Sustainability: People, Planet and Profit”.  The week helped to shine a spotlight on sustainability and what it means at Lochard. ‘Lunch and learn’ sessions focused on decarbonising the energy sector, our H2RESTORE project, and steps we are taking towards ethical procurement.
